Steven Bradshaw, LMFT, SEP, CGP
Licensed Psychotherapist (he/him)
West Los Angeles & Online
I am a Licensed Psychotherapist (LMFT #136584), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP). I help high-potential humans who feel stuck build a life that feels great on the inside.
I use a mind-body approach that engages your inner healer to move from states of anxiety, burnout, disconnection, and pain to states of goodness, flow, and feeling at home in your body.
This provides a foundation for deeply intimate relationships and a meaningful career adaptation organized around a sense of connection, purpose and energy.
I use a combination of Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Neuroscience, Attachment Theory, and Psychodynamic approaches and have trained personally with Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing), Thomas Hübl (Collective Trauma), Bessel van der Kolk (Body Keeps the Score), and Richard Schwartz (Internal Family Systems).
I have Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology and Business Science and a three year specialization as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent eight years traveling the world rock climbing, sailing, creating visual art, and reorienting to my own deeper sense of purpose. I now live with my wife and daughter in Santa Monica, California.
I currently have availability for private clients in-person in Santa Monica and online.

Treatment Approach
I teach practices that support your nervous system to move toward regulation, or homeostatic balance. These practices teach you how to be with challenging sensations without bracing to allow energy to shift and release, rather than accumulating in your body. Over time, your window of tolerance expands so that your nervous system naturally spends more time in parasympathetic, or “rest and digest,” even as you move through the world .
In the process, I help you to unburden the original traumas that live on as hypersensitivity to threat. To do this, we need to meet and befriend the protective parts that over or under react to present situations. With more understanding and acceptance, these parts calm down and start to work together as a team, helping you to become more responsive and vital.
I help you build a personalized tool-kit to manage your symptoms going forward. When you stop fearing your symptoms they lose power over you and they begin to fade. Clients often report forgetting about symptoms as their life comes back into the foreground.
